How to Use the PDF Reader
- Step 1 — Upload: Drag and drop your PDF or click to browse. Files are validated locally and rendered using PDF.js in your browser.
- Step 2 — Navigate: Use Prev/Next buttons, arrow keys, Page Up/Down, or swipe gestures to move between pages. Click thumbnails in the sidebar for quick jumps.
- Step 3 — Zoom and search: Adjust zoom with +/- buttons or the percentage selector. Use the search bar to find text, with highlighted matches and next/previous navigation.
- Step 4 — Print or download: Click Print or press Ctrl+P to open your browser's print dialog. Download the original file anytime with the Download button.
Viewer Features Explained
Page Navigation
Navigate efficiently using multiple methods: toolbar buttons, keyboard shortcuts (Arrow keys, Page Up/Down, Home/End), or the thumbnail sidebar. The page indicator shows your position and allows direct page input.
Zoom Controls
Adjust zoom from 50% to 200%, or use Fit Width to match your viewport width, or Fit Page to show the entire page. Keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl/Cmd + +/- to zoom, Ctrl/Cmd + 0 for actual size.
Text Search
Find text anywhere in the document with the search bar. Matches are highlighted in yellow. Toggle case-sensitive search for precise matching. Navigate results with Next/Prev buttons or keyboard arrows.
View Options
Toggle Continuous scroll for seamless reading or single-page view for focused navigation. Enable Night Mode to invert colors for comfortable reading in low-light conditions.
Sidebar Panels
Thumbnails: Clickable page previews for visual navigation. Outline: PDF bookmarks and hierarchical structure (if available). Attachments: List of embedded files (if any).

ToolsMatic Reader supports standard PDF files up to 200MB. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first using our Unlock PDF tool. Encrypted or corrupted files may not render correctly.
Type your query in the search bar and press Enter. Matches are highlighted in yellow. Use the Next/Previous buttons or arrow keys to navigate between results. Toggle Case for case-sensitive matching.
Yes. Use the + and - buttons, the percentage dropdown, or keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl/Cmd + +/-). Fit to Width and Fit to Page options automatically adjust zoom to your viewport dimensions.
